I was a 2017 Music OMI Fellow this year. I did a two and a half week residency in a magical setting, collaborating and sharing ideas and stories with 11 amazing musicians from all over the world.

Below are photos, music, and videos from this life changing experience:

A video I created back in Portland of Where Do We Go?, a musical piece recorded at the residency. That piece, and the live performance of Ride the Train From Here, also recorded at the residency, will be included in my new album, Where Do We Go?, which is scheduled for release in 2018.  Pianist Yuan-Chen Li, who magically also lives in Portland, will be playing on 5 other songs on the new album as well.

The Concert in the Fields was the final concert of our residency. Each of 11 Music OMI Fellows was responsible for presenting a 5 minute piece in collaboration with other fellows. Ride the Train From Here was the closing piece of the concert, and I performed it with musicians from Peru, Nigeria, Germany, and United Kingdom.
